Awe the Lion King what a majestic movie.  Timon and Pumbaa are talking…and puma says something almost right….you have got to put your past behind you which is the jist of what he is trying to say….oh course he says put you behind in the past which makes it so funny. 

Its an amazing thing how our past sometimes control us.   For instance Pastor Wright who is Obamas pastor seems to be stuck in an time wharp.  He is lashing out at “white americans” from stuff in his past.  He also takes on the sins of past generations of abuse and appears to make them his as well.  Its an amazing thing.  His past is controlling his future and has stained the way he sees things. 

Our past seems to stain the way we see things as well.  All of us have issues that haunt us, sometimes our past almost stalks us and sometimes it like our past hunts us down. It an amazing process how the enemy coninues to access the past to constantly bring it up in our minds to discourage us.  We then beat ourselves up for mistakes we have made over and over and over..well you get it lots of times.  You know what i mean.  Dang its a paralyzing moment. 

 Romans 8:1 says Therefore there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.  What a relief. 

There are those who believe that you can loose your salvation.  I don’t believe that because that would depend on my holding power.  My holding power is not so great but the holding power of Jesus is eternal.  Think about it for a minute if its based on my holding power then its a works based faith that is based on my ability to perform not on the finished work of Jesus.   

  John 10: 28 says, “  I give them eternal life  and they will never perrish, no one can snatch them out of my hand.  My Father who has given them to me is greater than all, no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. �

Isaiah 49:16 says, ” I have engraved you on the palms of my hands. ” God has engraved us on the palms of His hands.   In Romans 8:38 says, “  I am convinced that neither death or nor life, neither angles nor demons, neither the present nor the future nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anthing else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the Love of God that is in Chris Jesus our Lord”

 The past rears its ugly head and snarls.. you can’t make it look at all the stuff you have done..God doesn’t love you. You are just another fake.  Remember this…  Nothing can separate you from the love of God not present nor the past…its not based on your holding power its based on God’s holding power.  I sure do believe in God’s holding power alot more than my ability to hold on don’t you.  Its not based on your perfomance its based on the finished work on the Cross.   Wow to me that such a relief and a joy to understand the mesmerizing miracle of God’s grace.
