Its an amazing thing.  The love of God.  God so loved the world that He gave His only son.  God gave because of His great love for us.  The book Song of Songs the the first X rated passionate book about this love.  (You want you teen agers to read the bible tell them they cannot read the song of songs of the bible. Tell them its too x rated for them to read or study and figure out all the hidden meanings. Next thing you know they will have it out trying to figure it all out)

This love is between a man and a woman but often is aluded to God’s passionate love for us.  Phrases like tasting more sweeter than wine,  many waters cannot quench love nor never can rivers drown it out are laced with deeper meanings and sung in todays songs in many of the pop icons of today.  The passion the younger lover feels toward his bride is the same passion that God feels towards us.  He is passionate about His love for us.  So passionate He gave his only son to die for us so that we could be with Him.  Wow..The young man is totally taken by his bride’s beauty.  God is taken with us.  I know its hard to believe but He really is taken with us.

The man is refered to a King and Shepherd…the woman as one who loves my soul..its all so deep.  The ultimate King and Shepherd is God, the one who loves our soul is God…we are to love the lord with all your heart, mind and soul…wow how powerful is the passion of God for us.  There is the constant theme thoughout the song that says i am my beloved and he is mine…sound familiar…i will be their God and they will be my people…hmmmm its all making sense..then the king brings her out of the wilderness…sound familiar again..time and time again God brought us out of our own wilderness…the people of Israel as well as our own personal wilderness tracks apart from God.  Wow you mean to tell me God is passionately pursuing a deep relationship with us.  YES!!!!  He desires that..Hosea is the perfect example of God wanting us totally regardless of our hearts.

.I was praying over the parable of the pearl of great price that the merchant finds and sells everything he has to purchase that pearl  One night i had a dream.  In the dream i was talking to God like we were best friends.  God turned to me and said do you realize Doug that YOU were that pearl of great price to me.  I said in the dream as i dropped to my knees my heart was so overwhelmed with a sense of Love i was undone totally. You have got to be kidding Lord.  Tears streamed down my face and i said no God i always intrepreted this to me for me to sell everything for you.  He said no my son i gave everything in order to have a relationship with you.  I sent my only son to die in your place in order that we might have these talks cause you are the object of my intense passionate love.  Let me tell you folks…i woke up crying my pillow was wet, my heart was shaken to the core, i wept off and on all day long. I do not have emotional moments in my life. You see all of my life i have never felt loved.  Don’t know why, can’t explain it, have always felt like i was a second class citizen.  Even though i might be your friend i have always felt like someone was really your choice i was just there.    When God spoke those words to me it touched me to my very core.  He really is passionately in love with me the chief of all sinners.  He is intensely passionate about His relationship with me and has given all He can give to purchase my soul on Calvary’s cross.  Its amazing, its overwhelming, its undoing, its so beyond words to describe that i fumble at how little the words really describe what i felt at that moment in that dream.  God love you the same way with the same intense passion.  He is pursuing you just like the king pursued his bridge in the song of songs with that same intense passionate love.  Wow can you imagine that?  Are you ready to have your mind blown away.  Let God love you with that kind of passion it will change your life forever.  It did mine…thanks for reading
