Some how we are to walk the straight and narrow. The bible says that the man plans his way but the Lord directs his steps.  Also the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord…Psalm 37:33, Prov 26.9.

The bible talks about what many have call the straight and narrow road to follow Jesus.  Jesus knows all the steps you are to take on a daily basis.  I used to be pretty good at topography reading (i guess a weird gift of somes sort).  We would start at point A and have to get to point Z with a compass and a map of the land using only valleys, hills, creeks,.  The funny thing is that a little off close up is not so bad but the further you go away from the origin the farther you get off course. You might be a foot off at 100 yards but keeping the same setting going several miles that foot turns into being lost or totally missing the mark.  The enemy wants to pull you away from everyone and isolate you.  Just like he led Jesus to the wilderness this has been his scheme for a while.  Once isolated he moves in for the kill.  We are equipted with the scriptures to combat the devil.  We all need others to gently restore us back to health.  To help us straighten up. To point us back on the straight and narrow. 

Ethan Coke one of our youth had scoliosis of the spine.  Ethan has a mother that is a nurse.  Ethan got prayer for the scoliosis and guess what it was straighten.  His mother measured his back and is totally in shock as as any medical profession person would be.  God not only straightens our paths but HE staightens backs as well.  Way to go God you are still moving.Â

God has been pouring out His Spirit on the church lately.  Okay i know its freaky but its really unexplainable.  Let me give you some really really cool examples of how God has been pouring out His Spirit,

Poppy ( real name Ernest Veal )is a Marine who has served in the military.  He is a rough tough marine.  The few the proud the marine..you know what i am talking about.  Poppy has an x-ray that reveals he has a huge grapefruit size tumor on his bladder.  The doctors tell poppy that he has to have surgery to remove the tumor and probably his bladder as well.  Oh my gosh what an opportunity for God to work his miracle healing power.  Poppy didn’t want to bother me on Sunday so he asked me to keep him in my prayers, in the parking lot in his car,  he was going to have a tumor removed off his bladder and might have to have his bladder removed as well.  Oh man I said sure and started to walk away when i thought i heard the voice of the Lord say no go back and pray for Poppy..so i motioned for pappy to roll the window down and i reach in through the window and put my hand about where the bladder might be on his stomach and asked God to heal the tumor and bladder condition.  I felt it was an afflicting spirit sent by the enemy. So i rebuked that spirit in the Name if Jesus.  We prayed I could tell Poppy was shaken and teared up.  I little tear in a marine’s eye is a like a flood in the rest of our eyes. I could see a sense of relief.   He was going to the doctors and would call me the results.  Tuesday came around I get this call from Pappy…Pastor Doug guess what I went in for the surgery they did another x-ray and the tumor is gone.  I fell out and cried.  Wow Amazing he got up and testified to the whole church about the miracle that just happened. Awe the Lion King what a majestic movie.  Timon and Pumbaa are talking…and puma says something almost right….you have got to put your past behind you which is the jist of what he is trying to say….oh course he says put you behind in the past which makes it so funny. 

Its an amazing thing how our past sometimes control us.   For instance Pastor Wright who is Obamas pastor seems to be stuck in an time wharp.  He is lashing out at “white americans” from stuff in his past.  He also takes on the sins of past generations of abuse and appears to make them his as well.  Its an amazing thing.  His past is controlling his future and has stained the way he sees things.  Read More »

Frank is a mechanic who has had his share of problems in life.   Frank one day decided to take his own life and commit suicide.  Frank drank 1/2 gallon of bleach and 1/2 then 1/2 of gallon of anti-freeze to end it all.  Frank was rushed to the hospital.  The doctors gave little hope of his recovery.  According to all his vital signs were gone.   Read More »

Its an amazing thing.  The love of God.  God so loved the world that He gave His only son.  God gave because of His great love for us.  The book Song of Songs the the first X rated passionate book about this love.  (You want you teen agers to read the bible tell them they cannot read the song of songs of the bible. Tell them its too x rated for them to read or study and figure out all the hidden meanings. Next thing you know they will have it out trying to figure it all out)  Read More »
